Contents of this Book

This book is divided into two major sections. Section I contains the six cases, together with the associated learning objectives for each case. Included with each case is a set of 'Discussion Questions' which are intended to encourage readers to focus their thinking on specific issues and problems. Some suggestions on how readers should approach the case materials are provided at the front of the materials relating to each case.

Section II contains some notes on each of the cases, called 'Facilitators' Notes', which are intended to help course facilitators to prepare their own analysis of the case. These notes are not intended to be the 'right answers' or the only answers to the questions posed; there are no single right answers to the situations faced by the organisations described. The notes are, however, meant to help readers to focus on what the authors found to be key issues. Readers may disagree with the ideas suggested in the notes and hold firmly to their own analyses and interpretations. But in determining their own position they should enhance their understanding of the issues addressed and their own ability to cope with new problems and issues.
