Small-scale horn processing

Horn, a noble, abundant and low-cost raw material, can often serve as a substitute for plastics in the production of a variety of useful and decorative articles. The use of horn offers some socio-economic advantages to many developing countries, as it can yield employment and income. Traditional techniques are available - but they need to be rationalised, adapted in terms of appropriate technology, and made more widely known.
