The Ministry of Health would like to express its gratitude to the. Danish International Development Agency (DANIDA) for providing financial support to produce these Standard Treatment Guidelines for Tanzania. The inclusion of the National Essential Drug List has purposely been provided and it is felt that this will go a long way to achieve the aims of the National Drug Policy.

It is the aim of the Ministry that as much as possible only drugs in this list should be used by all prescribers, public and private.
