11.5 Mental complications

If the presentation is negative for focal deficit or meningitis, then mental complications should be considered. As in any chronic illness, mental health problems are often found in HIV-positive persons

The most common mental disturbances that can occur at any CD4 level are adjustment disorder, depression, mixed depression and anxiety and anxiety disorders.
