3. Specific Objectives

• To assess whether Ethiopia has the necessary structures and mechanisms in place for improving its pharmaceutical sector

• To examine the processes of implementing the pharmaceutical strategies

• To determine whether the target outcomes of the pharmaceutical sector (i.e. access, rational drug use and quality assurance) have been achieved

• To contribute to the international efforts to identify and examine trends of the global forces which affect the pharmaceutical sector.
