Training of Data Collectors and pre-testing of instruments

Training of 12 investigators was followed by practical sessions including field visits to three health facilities in Abuja. After introducing the participants to monitoring, survey methods and instruments, they were divided into three groups to pre-test the monitoring tools in the selected health facilities and some households around the environs of the health facilities. The results were collated and problems encountered in the field were discussed and solutions proffered by the participants. States to be studied were then randomly sampled and allocated to the data collectors.
