2. Research and Production

a. The research and production of traditional medicines will be directed towards prevailing health conditions and the needs of the country.

b. Medically and economically justified medicines will be given priority in research and production.

c. The short term aim of research will primarily focus on the identification of traditional remedies, screening of traditional Materia Medica and assessing the safety of the products.

d. The long-term objective of the research is to assess efficacy of the drugs and to develop appropriate methodology and technology for industrial production.
