Clinical features: These acute systemic diseases result from infection by Salmonella typhi and S. paratyphi. A an B respectively. The clinical manifestations and duration of illness vary markedly from one patient to another. The major clinical features are fever, severe headache, drowsiness and aching in the limbs. The course of paratyphoid tend be to shorter and less severe compared to typhoid.
