The general health staff of the clinics is responsible for:
• delivery of the treatment to patients, including making provisions for treatment of patients who are unable to attend the clinic every four weeks
• tracing of patients who missed two consecutive clinics
• education of the patients about the need of regular attendance
• questioning the patient regarding new nerve impairment. In case of complaint, referral of the patient to the District TB and Leprosy Co-ordinator
• filling in the Patient Record Card
• identification of complications and referral to the District TB and Leprosy Co ordinator and hospital.
The District TB and Leprosy Coordinator is responsible for the annual reviews of MB patients, the regular examination of PB and MB patients before release from treatment, and recording of the findings on the Patient Record Card.
